Olga Kotchenkova (cello) started her musical education in Tchaikovsky City, and continued in Moscow with professor Natalia Shakhovskaya, and the Borodin Quartet, until she graduated with the highest diploma given by the Moscow State Conservatoire of Music as a solo and chamber music performer. Miss Kotchenkova reached notable results at the Osaka Music Festival in 1993 with a piano duo, at the Vienna International Music Competition in 1995, was the winner of the Premio Stradivari International Cello Competition in 1996 in Milan, and was nominated in Berlin in 2007 for an excellent interpretation of a Bach Cello Suite at the Alte Musik Treff Baroque Festival. She also completed graduate studies with professor Johannes Gorizki in Düsseldorf.
She was invited by Claudio Abbado to play in the Lucerne Music Festival in Switzerland, and by Zubin Mehta to play in the Valencia Opera Orchestra.
Lorin Maazel described Olga as a first class chamber music performer.
