Mikhail Spivak (violin) was born in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow Gnessin Academy, where he pursued graduate studies under professor M. Roussin. In 1991 he won the third prize in the Rameau International Violin Competition in France, and was awarded the P. Sarasate diploma in 1995 (Pamplona). Between 1992 and 1994 he was concertmaster of the Young Russia Orchestra, and in December 1994 he was invited to play with the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra led by V. Spivakov. In 1996 and 1997 he perfected himself at the Brussels Conservatory under professor I. Oistrach. Mr. Spivak is currently Assistant Principal Violin of the Valencia Opera Orchestra.
